Day 15 - July 24, 2025

Day 15, Thursday, July 24, 2025 is our last full day at the maison. Looking back we have accomplished quite a bit. I want to chronicle our achievements for posterity:

We have:

Hot water

High speed fiber optic internet and streaming

A television

Working clothes washer and dryer

Clothes line and a portable clothing drying rack

2 couches

dining tables and chairs, inside and outside

A clean swimming pool

a kitchen refrigerator

an outdoor refrigerator for wine

A barbecue grill

An outdoor fireplace

Beds for all the bedrooms with extra sheets for all the beds

Dishes, silverware, pots and pans, serving platters and dishes, kitchen utensils, cutting boards, knives, and steak knives

An Espresso machine, coffee grinder, electric water heater for tea, blender, food processor

Bath towels and pool towels

Brooms, mops, household tools, gardening tools and a step-ladder

A fire extinguisher, (multiple smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector to be installed)

An industrial vacuum

A new cooktop with some additional work to get the connection for gas to be in the utility room

A new dishwasher that needs the water supply adjusted by a plumber to be functional

And

We have a goat.

People have attempted to take him away, but Echappé is a fierce little bugger and does not want to leave our place. We shall see how things look when we return if he is still hanging around the side yard.

Tomorrow Scott and I will be going by train to the city of Bordeaux where we will spend a few days in that city before flying back to California next week.
