35 years of savoir faire
Denis Lubiato
Denis’ father Serge Lubiato had been a winemaker starting in the local commune’s cooperative cellar starting in 1951. Serge made wine for over 45 years and passed on his passion and “savoir faire” for making quality wines to Denis.
After a short career as a wine label printer in Libourne; Denis returned to school to learn and improve his viticulture and winemaking skills. Denis’ passion then lead to the purchase of the Perreau Bel-Air in 1991 in the communes of Saint Phillipe d’Aiguilhe and Gardegan-et-Tourtirac, a short 6 kilometers from the famed vineyards of Saint Emilion.
In purchasing the property Denis says that he vinified the wines that he liked while preserving the spirit of the terroir of Castillon. Denis’ father Serge was a constant source of support in the cultivation and vinification of his wines.
In 2025 a group of like-minded friends with an eye towards value-priced French wine with excellent quality purchased Perreau Bel-Air and have formed Sarreau-Martin. We are thrilled to have Denis Lubiato pass on his knowledge of the terroir and vinification as we look to carry on the tradition of making quality that can express the best of the terroir of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux.
